Leslie Shao-ming Sun Field StationLeslie Shao-ming Sun Field Station at Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve. The Sun Field Station houses the research and educational facilities for the 1,200-acre preserve, set in the foothills just southwest of Stanford's main campus. The building received the first San Mateo County Green Building Award in 2002, the year the field station was built and was named one of the Top Ten Green Projects by the American Institute of Architects in 2005. Its goal is an annual energy budget of net zero carbon emissions and to reduce the consumption of virgin materials.
